Melis Baykan began sailing in the Optimist class at the age of eight and represented Türkiye as a member of the National Sailing Team at European and World Championships. She later competed in the Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, and 470 classes before transitioning to keelboat racing. Melis has raced internationally in IRC, ORC, and J70 classes, taking on roles as helmswoman, skipper, and tactician. Her recent campaigns include Copa del Rey, the J70 World Championship, the J70 Corinthian European Championship, and the Bacardi Cup. She currently competes as a tactician and team leader while pursuing her goal of racing at the highest international level and inspiring more women to build careers in competitive sailing.Best Results
