Over the past week and weekend, several regattas took place around the world that could have an impact on the SSL Global Ranking. The most important event was the 470 European Championships, where the winners earn 1000 ranking points. The SSL Global Ranking will be updated soon here.
SSL 1000
The European Championships were held in Vilamoura, Portugal, from 6 to 14 March. The British team of Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris won the 2026 title after excellent medal races.
Giacomo Ferrari and Alessandra Dubbini finished in second place, while Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona took third. The British winners will receive 1000 points, which is likely to affect the Global Ranking.
SSL 500
The Mallorca Sailing Center hosted a regatta with sailors from five classes. It served as a warm-up event before the Trofeo Princesa Sofía, the first Sailing Grand Slam event of the year. This regatta awards 500 points for the Global Ranking.

- ILCA 6: Maria Erdi (HUN)
- ILCA 7: Dimitri Peroni (ITA)
- Nacra 17: Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco (ARG)
- 49er: Nevin Snow and Ian Macdiarmid (USA)
- 49erFX: Paula Barcelo and Maria Cantero (ESP)
Another 500-point event last weekend was the 2nd Italia Cup 2026, which brought together hundreds of Italian ILCA sailors. The winners were:
- ILCA 4: Alessio Lucantoni
- ILCA 6: Lorenzo Ghirotti
- ILCA 7: Giulio Genna
SSL 250
On 12 March in Sarasota, United States, the FWSA Interclub (Sunfish class) took place, awarding 250 SSL points. The winner was Linda Leader.
SSL 100
Several smaller events (100 points) were also held around the world, including:
- NSW State Championships in Newport, Australia (Waszp)
- 3rd Annual Lucky Charm Regatta (Sunfish, USA)
- Europa Cup (ILCA 4, 6, and 7) in Portimão, Portugal
- Zadar Melges 24 Cup 2026 in Croatia
